Entering in Zero Grades for Past Due Assignments

Scenario: Moodle doesn't dock student grades for unattempted assignments. To make a grade reflective of reality, you need to manually change those grades to zero. This occurs in the Moodle gradebook.

1. Click on "Grades," under "Administration."


2. Turn editing on.


3. Fill in the blank grades with zeros.


4. Click update.

Note: This makes the assignment unattemptable by the student. If you would like to give the student the opportunity to attempt the assignment in the future, you need to override the manual grade:

In the gradebook with editing turned on, click on the modification icon next to the specific assignment from the student:


Then unclick the "Overridden" hatch and save changes:
